The Curse Team is excited to announce that we've secured extra Mists of Pandaria beta keys to give away exclusively to our addon authors! These keys are available to any author who has uploaded a legitimate project with an install base of 1,000 or more users to our sites via our CurseForge store page, or WowAce store page. If you meet these requirements, claiming your key is simple! Visit our CurseForge store page, and click on the Mists of Pandaria Author Beta link at the bottom. Provided you meet the requirements to receive a key, that's it -- you're in! Each author can receive 1 beta key. Please note that this is a thank you to our authors, and as such, does not cost any points to redeem, nor does it require you to be part of our rewards system -- The keys are first come, first serve to any author who hosts an addon with us that meets the 1,000 user install base. Remember to put your Battle.net ID (the email address you use to log into battle.net) as your email address for the order. Be sure to hit the checkout button so that the key is shown in your "My Orders" tab in order to receive it! Keys will be distributed as they become available.

Curse is happy to announce a brand new planned feature for our Curse Client -- The Developer Center. This will be a quick, easy way for any author to upload and manage their projects. To make this new feature the best it can be for our authors, we want all of your suggestions on what you'd love to have and appreciate!
With this new Developer Center, you'll be able to easily upload new projects and new versions, and see your project list. To top it all off, we're also creating a simple, intuitive wizard to make everything fast and effortless!
Any and all suggestions or thoughts can be sent to email@example.com, or leave a comment here -- Our developers will be checking both regularly!
As many of you noticed, a couple of weeks ago we changed up the formatting on the site. This was done for security - A severe XSS vulnerability was found in our Markdown parser as well as a potential security issue in our Safe HTML parser, and we moved fast to disable them when it was discovered.
At the same time, we decided to go ahead and actually deprecate parsers that were considered deprecated internally for quite some time - Textile, Curse Wiki and Safe HTML.
In retrospect, this was shortsighted, and we should not have deprecated Safe HTML. Since we made the determination internally to deprecate it, it has seen a huge rise in popularity, primarily in the Bukkit Dev community, and we had not factored in this new usage. We moved fast on the security, and made a rash decision in the heat of the moment to deprecate it without re-evaluating usage. For that we apologize.
With that out of the way, I'm happy to announce that Safe HTML is back, and the same HTML subset is available if you use markdown.
The new and improved Safe HTML (and Markdown) supports the following tags:
a, abbr, b, big, blockquote, br, caption, code, dd, del, dl, dt, em, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, hr, i, img, li, ol, p, pre, s, small, strike, strong, sub, sup, table, tbody, td, tfoot, th, thead, tr, ul
alt, colspan, href, rowspan, src, title
Note that both tags and attributes must be lowercase. Uppercase is no longer supported.
If you have any tags and attributes you'd like to see supported, let us know in the comments below, and we will consider adding them.
Have a good weekend.
Curse is happy to announce that our complimentary author reward Premium program is once again properly giving free Premium! With this change also comes a few new parameters.
As of today, if you are a contributor of any sort to a currently active project within an upper bounds of monthly popularity percentage, you will receive a free monthly subscription! This service is now extended to all authors, as even more games are eligible! Currently, all games supported on the various CurseForge sites are eligible, provided you meet the requirements. As such, the following sites are currently included:
If you believe you should be receiving your complimentary Premium but have yet to, please wait 24 hours to make sure that the email and complimentary subscription have had time to be granted. Also please remember that you will need to log out and back in to both the Client and Curse.com to receive your benefits. If after a 24 hour period you are not receiving your complimentary subscription, please either make a report or ticket on CurseForge, or leave a forum post.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience the lack of Premium may have caused our authors! Thank you for your patience!
We will be performing site maintenance today at 2pm CST / 19:00 UTC. We expect the maintenance to last no more than 30 minutes.
UPDATE 2:15pm CST / 19:15 UTC: The maintenance has been completed.
The Curse Client is undergoing a gigantic overhaul, and we need you to test the changes! This will be one of the largest updates the Client has seen -- as such, suggestions are also appreciated!<center></center>
If you'd like to help out, head to testclientupdate.curse.com, and install this test Client. Please be sure to close the regular Curse Client when testing this one! As almost everything has been changed or updated, every facet of this new Client needs to be tested. Some primary examples include:
- Installing new addons, as well as installing many addons at a time
- Update / Uninstalling existing addons
- Search My Addons / Get More Addons, as well as the search filter
- Viewing Changelog, Description, author links, and web site
- Saved Game Sync
- Scanning for games
- Start Game button
- Update All
- UI Wizard and addon settings cleaner
There is a workaround for the class of taint that blocks (among other things) the Glyph frame.
See this forum thread for more information.
We have become aware of an issue where authors are not receiving their complimentary monthly Premium subscriptions as they should. If you are an author affected by this, please note that we are working quickly to address this and a fix will be rolled out shortly.
In most cases, if you were previously receiving a complimentary monthly Premium subscription but did not receive one recently, you are still eligible for the subscription and are being affected.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our authors!
Though this actually happened last week, no announcement was ever made about this highly-annoying site bug. Enjoy!
Happy New Year everybody! We wish you a happy 2012! Be safe and enjoy New Years Day!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! Those of you with plans, have a safe and fun filled day with family and friends... those that don't... well... have fun by yourself!
On Thursday December the 8th at 12:30PM CST we'll be taking the site off line for a maintenance window. During this time the website and is related services will be offline. We expect the downtime to last for less than two hours.
Thank you for your patience during this inconvenience.
UPDATE 1:30 PM CST: The maintenance has been completed.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that a new category has been added.
At this moment we don't have an icon for it, but it exists so you can go forth and use it! :D
Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate it, enjoy the time with your friends and families, and be safe on Black Friday. Enjoy!

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!
Hello everyone. A while back we started accepting Terraria projects on the site.
There seems to be a bit of confusion as to what we're looking for when you create a project and upload the files.
The name of the project should be descriptive. A name/description of "My first map" does not tell us the moderators anything, nor does it convey any useful information to people who download your map. I am not saying your description has to be full of spoilers, but put yourself in the position of the person downloading the map. What should they know before downloading them? What can you say to entice them to download it? As always, use proper sentence structure, grammar and punctuation.
An example of a bad description:
my frst map!1!11! download it pls!
An example of a good description:
This is my first map release on CurseForge. This map has been designed so that you have easy access to all available items, and there are easy access mine shafts to everywhere you need to be.
There are two files that are usually uploaded: .wld and .bak
We only need you to upload the .wld file.
Zip up the .wld and upload it. It's that simple.
This saves on bandwidth (remember, a lot of users have capped internet now, so every bit they save downloading makes life easier), and speeds up things.
Since WoW will soon be available for Brazil, we have added ptBR (Brazilian Portuguese) to the Localization app.
We're currently in the process of moving knowledge base articles and wiki's around. This means some links won't work until everything is transitioned.
Thank you for your patience.
We're going to be bringing the repositories down temporarily for a migration. I'd expect the downtime to be less than an hour and will start within the next 10.
Update: We started a few mins late, but we're doing the final catchup sync now. We'll be done shortly.
Update: We're waiting on the final sync to finish, then we'll be turning services back on. Sorry for the delay.
Update: We're complete and back online, please report any issues with any repositories.
We've posted a story on curse.com explaining what happened in the last few days to cause this downtime, and what we're doing to prevent it ever happening again.
Murphy's law being what it is, luck would have it that our SSL certificates for CurseForge and WowAce expired just as the downtime bagan, on June 23rd. Please rest assured there's no security breach, they are simply certificates that expired at about the worst possible time. We will be updating them on Monday, June 27th.
Update June 27th: The SSL certificates have now been updated.
There has been reported and confirmed Google Ads that link to fake Curse Client sites. These are malicious websites that make an effort to steal your World of Warcraft or Curse Account. Please be careful not to click on these advertisements. All Curse downloads can be found at Curse.com.
We have made an effort to contact Google and inform them of the issue and we will keep you updated as to the progress of the issue, but until that time, please be careful about the sites you visit. If possible, inform your friends (online and at home) to download the Curse Client only from the official curse.com website.
This is a simple "Curse Client" search.
Another malicious ad. Don't click on these!
If you become aware of more ads like these, please let us know by submit a support ticket or simply replying here. Thanks.
We encourage everyone to pick up an Authenticator (either by iPod, iPhone, or authenticator device). You can learn more about a Blizzard Authenticator here.
I'd like to announce the opening of our Rift addon development site: rift.curseforge.com. We plan on supporting Rift with all the same great tools and services we provide to World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online and other games. We also plan on providing full integration with curse.com.
To get a feel for addon development for Rift, Trion has released an example addon via their forums: http://forums.riftgame.com/showthread.php?204383-Example-addons, as well as preliminary documentation: http://pastebin.com/r2E1AiNg/.
